Do you normally drive your car to church?
Take this opportunity to be different.
Join the growing number of bicycle riders in your ride to church on August 25, 2013.
As Christians we are called to follow the spiritual and physical path of Jesus. When Jesus physically walked the earth with us 2000 years ago, he lead a simple life. He walked on foot, rode on a donkey, or took a boat. Sometimes he skipped the boat and walked on water. If Jesus was here with us today, how would he travel? Think about that a bit.
Maybe he would ride a bicycle sometimes. He wouldn't always ride a bicycle, but there are times he may. Why would he ride a bicycle? If he saw an opportunity in reaching the lost he probably would. If he saw a way to help someone who is in need he probably would. If it could be an opportunity to commune with the Father he probably would. If it was a time to meet with His disciples he probably would.
Why are we saying you should?
Perhaps you don't get the opportunity often to see God's creation at a slower pace.
Perhaps you have a friend that would be willing to ride along that's never been to church before.
Perhaps you are that bicycling person who isn't currently in a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit, but wonders who this Jesus is.
Perhaps you want to find a way to ride to church that doubles as a time to exercise.
Perhaps you want to find another method to reduce your impact on God's creation.
Perhaps you want to use this as an opportunity to help someone who is in need.
This is your opportunity. Take it!
Whoever claims to life in him must walk as Jesus did. - 1 John 2:6
